Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How do I search for brushes?
Choose "Carbon Brushes" in the menu on the Homepage. If you know the motor OEM, choose the manufacturer's name from the menu and all brushes offered for that manufacturer will be displayed. To search by catalog number or physical characteristic, choose the "Search Carbon Brushes" button. Enter the complete OEM, Repco or other number into the "Search by Number" field and choose "Search". When a match is found in the cross-reference file, it will be displayed. If you do not have a complete catalog number, but do have a physical description, then use the "Search by Characteristics" option. You must at least enter the thickness and width of the brush. Any matches found will be displayed. The more information you enter, the better the search results will be. If you have identification problems please go to the carbon brush reference page to learn more about grades and how to measure a carbon brush.
How do I search for contacts and coils?
Choose "Electrical Contacts" or "Control
Coils" in the menu on the Homepage. If you have a name or catalog
number, or a part thereof, you can enter it in the search box and click
"Search". The system will search the database and any available
option(s) will be listed. Choose the option(s) and a detailed product
page will be displayed. If you do not have a catalog number, but know
the name of the control manufacturer, choose one of them and a series
option(s) will be presented. After you choose a series, all of the size
options available in that series will be displayed. All catalog numbers
and images displayed are clickable. Choose the size and you will be
taken to the product page. Here you can view all the particular details
about the product.

Requests for quotation for large quantities
are welcome. Please send us the particulars through the Contact Us page

earn greater discounts.
What if I have a brush sample, but no catalog number or nameplate information?
There are several things you can do:
1. Measure the thickness and width of the brush and do the "Search by
Physical Characteristics" on the carbon brush search page. 2. Check the
brush for a catalog number or other identifying marks.
3. Choose the Carbon Brush option from the Homepage. Next choose the
"Carbon Brush Reference" button and note as many things as you are able
about your sample from these pages. Call our sales department at
800-822-9190 for additional assitance. 4. Draw the brush on a piece of
plain white paper. Include as many dimensions or views as possible and
fax it toll-free to 800-424-9224.
5. Send the sample to Repco.
What if I have a contact sample, but no catalog number or nameplate information?
There are several things you can do: 1. Check the contact for a catalog number or other identifying marks. 2. Check the starter coil, if available, for a catalog number. Perhaps it can be cross-referenced to the device. 3. Trace, not draw, the contact on a piece of plain white paper. Include as many dimensions or views as possible and fax it toll-free to 800-424-9224. 4. Send the sample to Repco.
The equipment I service is really old.
Repco stocks replacements for many starters and motors that have been obsoleted by the manufacturer.
How quickly are stock items shipped?
Orders for stock items placed before 3:00PM EST are shipped the same day they are received.
Will the use of a non-OEM replacement part void a warranty?
If
the starter is less than one year old, the answer is probably yes.
However, most product warranties are for a period of one year. If the
unit is out of warranty, then there is no warranty to void. If the
starter is less than one year old and the contacts have burned and/or
worn down, then perhaps you should call the OEM representative and ask
him to visit your facility and install a new set of contacts in the
item under warranty.
Are Repco's contacts NEMA certified?
No
contacts are NEMA certified. The smallest item in the controller that
can be certified is the complete contactor. However, the component
parts of the contactor, such as the coil, contacts or hardware are not
certifiable according to any existing NEMA standards.
What about liability?
Please see the "Policies" link on the Homepage. Repco Inc. is fully insured with manufacturer's liability coverage
