Re-Tipping
This procedure is usually limited to larger-sized, silver-tipped contacts. Two common reasons for re-tipping are expense and obsolescence. The cost of this procedure is usually one-half the cost of a new contact set, for NEMA size 4 and above.

We remove the exhausted silver pad, clean the contact, braze on a new tip and the contact is silver-plated when required. If the size of the silver pad is known, quotes can be given over the phone at 800-822-9190 or through the Contact Us section of this site. Otherwise, a sample will be needed.

If burning has progressed beyond the silver pad into the copper backing, we will need to look at the contact before providing a quote. If the contact is repairable, it will require more time and labor. Please allow 2-3 weeks for turnaround.
